Located in an old distillery built in 1908, the Museo de Anís (Museum of Anise) is one of the must-do activities to get to know the essence of the Subbética.

There are four galleries where you can see expositions about the history of anisettes from Rute up until present day, with photographs and the machinery itself.

It is one of the experiences which Destino Subbética recommends, because it combines history, cuisine and culture typical of the region.

The Museo del Anís in Rute can be visited:

• From Monday to Friday, from 9am-2pm and 5pm-7pm
• Saturday from 10am to 2pm
• Sundays and holidays: by previous booking
• In October, November and December: open every day
• June and August: from Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 2:30pm
